MINISTER MARAIS WELCOMES SPEEDY ARRESTS IN MFULENI MASS MURDER CASE
Western Cape Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety Anroux Marais has welcomed the arrests of four suspects in connection with the murder of five men in the Madikizela settlement in Mfuleni on Sunday.
Minister Marais congratulated the provincial South African Police Service (SAPS) for its breakthrough in the investigation, “I urge detectives to thoroughly investigate this shooting and to ensure the case is watertight. Those responsible must face the consequences of their dreadful actions.”
The Minister also commended the SAPS for seizing four firearms, consisting of a rifle and three pistols, as well as rounds of ammunition.
“The help of the public, who provided information to authorities, was very important. It proves again that we must work together with communities to root out crime and criminals from our province,” Minister Marais added.
