Western Cape SAPS members bag several national awards
Western Cape Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety Anroux Marais has congratulated members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Western Cape who did the province proud at the National Police Excellence Awards held in Durban over the past weekend.
The following members were crowned national winners in their respective categories:
Woman of the Year: SB Mateza (Nyanga)
Sportsperson with disability: AC Africa (Mfuleni)
Reservist of the Year: NF Luiters (Pacaltsdorp)
The following national second places were attained by the Western Cape:
Admin Employee levels 5 to 7: E Meyer (Nyanga)
Operations member levels 5 to 7: KJD Louw (Maitland Flying Squad)
Detective Service Team: Anti-Gang Unit
The following members scooped third-place awards:
Admin employee levels 2 to 4: HD Kwatiyo (Lansdowne)
Detective Services employee levels 5 to 7: N Maqkaza (Mfuleni)
Community Policing Forum of the Year: Montagu
