Our mandate
The Programme will facilitate the provisioning of Human Capital and Innovation skills to deliver on the economic Human Resources Development needs of the Western Cape. The Programme further will align and give support to the Provincial priorities of Jobs, Safety and Wellbeing of the citizens of the Province.
Invitation to apply for stipend funding
The Skills Development Chief Directorate currently has funding available for the 2026/27 financial year for the Experiential Learning Programme, which is supported by Provincial Treasury.
Basic Education Ecosystem Support
In collaboration with WCED, to promote and improve the basic education ecosystem through plans that align with sectoral requirements, workplace intelligence, the improvement of career choices amongst youth, and the alignment amongst basic education, post-education, and industry.
Workplace Skills Development
This unit consists of stipend support for BPO Skills Programme, Artisan Programme, Work and Skills, and Technology Programmes.
Post School Ecosystem Support
To promote the improvement of Post-School Ecosystem Support through pathways that allow better access to economic opportunities.
