Our Mandate
We are dedicated to driving sustainable growth and job creation in the tourism industry through a comprehensive and integrated tourism strategy. Our goal is to position the Western Cape as a premier destination that offers high-quality experiences to visitors while fostering economic development and transformation within the sector. Our efforts are structured across four key areas: Tourism Planning, Tourism Growth and Development, Tourism Safety, and Tourist Guide Registration.

The Western Cape Tourist Guide Registration Office is responsible for registering tourist guides within the Western Cape.

The Tourism Safety and Support unit aims to improve Tourism Safety and address the perception of safety risks in the Western Cape.

The unit develops and co-ordinates the strategic tourism agenda, making travel easy and convenient to the Western Cape and ensuring streamlined industry services for tourists.
Tourism Growth and Development
The unit facilitates growth and development in the Western Cape and improves visitor experiences by offering quality support and services.
