Department of Infrastructure's Community Matters radio show and podcast

The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) features Provincial Minister of Infrastructure Tertuis Simmers in the fourth episode of the Community Matters radio show on 5 August 2025 on various Western Cape community radio stations between 18:35 and 19:25.

The show will also be livestreamed online.

#CommunityMatters Episode 4 is titled 'Building Beyond Bricks'. Minister Tertuis Simmers is joined by leading women in infrastructure including Adv. Chantal Smith, Head of Department of Infrastructure and the Economic Hub’s Lindelwa Mabuntane, to explore empowerment, equity, and the future of inclusive development in the Western Cape.

The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) piloted the Community Matters radio show  on various community radio stations in the Western Cape on 20 May 2025.

Episode 4

Episode three (3) of the Community Matters radio show airs on radio stations on 1 July 2025. This episode focuses on human settlements, particularly the topics of mixed-use housing, innercity development, and affordable and accessible housing using Conradie Park, 353 on Main and Oude Molen as examples.
