Notice of road closure along R101 Du Toitskloof Pass

The R101, also known as Du Toitskloof Pass will be temporarily closed between km 5.0 and km 21.25 for construction during the following period:

From: 1 September 2025

To: 1 November 2025

The objective of this closure is to resurface the road as well as the tunnel floor along R101 Du Toitskloof Pass between Paarl and Rawsonville.

Full road closure measures will be implemented during this period.

Localised access will be granted to people who have residences along the road closure area.

During this time in which the pass will be closed, road users are advised to make use of alternative routes. The main alternative route is the N1 via the Huguenot Tunnel. The safety and convenience of the travelling public are of utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure that courtesy is extended to the public at all times.
