Vehicle access to Matjiesvlei restored
- Just one month after establishing site, our teams have restored vehicle access (high ground clearance vehicles) to the Matjiesvlei community,an important milestone following the devastating floods.
- This achievement was no small feat. More than 5 500 m³ of rock and fill material had to be transported along 7.5 km of narrow access road to make the route passable.
- While significant work still lies ahead to fully restore the road to its pre-flood standard, restoring vehicle access provides much-needed relief for the community and marks another important step in the recovery journey.
