Minister Sileku welcomes new Chief Director of Traffic Management

The Provincial Minister of Mobility Isaac Sileku has congratulated Maxine Bezuidenhout on her appointment as the Western Cape Mobility Department’s new Chief Director: Traffic Management.

Minister Sileku said, “Chief Director Bezuidenhout brings over 14 years of experience in municipal traffic management and leadership. Her tenure at the City of Cape Town, where she served as Assistant Traffic Chief, has been marked by strategic innovation, operational excellence, and an unwavering commitment to public safety.”

 She has played a key role in coordinating road safety interventions across all spheres of government, including partnerships with the National Traffic Police and Provincial Departments, contributing to a measurable reduction in road fatalities during the 2024/25 festive season. Her collaborative approach to leadership and ability to unite teams across government have not only improved road safety outcomes but also strengthened intergovernmental cooperation.

Chief Director Bezuidenhout is a results-driven leader whose integrity, professionalism, and passion for service embody the very values we seek to uphold in this sector. Her proven track record in strategic planning, operational management, and staff development positions her perfectly to lead Traffic Services into a new era of efficiency, accountability, and innovation.
