Your FREE RIDE to opportunity
Welcome to Getting YOU to Work
The Western Cape Government’s Jobseeker Travel Voucher Programme
What is it?
The Getting YOU to Work programme is a Western Cape Government initiative that provides unemployed jobseekers with free travel in Cape Town and George.
The programme helps unemployed jobseekers by eliminating transport costs to travel for free tojob interviews and for work opportunities.
Since its launch in February 2024, the programme has supported over 24,000 jobseekers in Cape Town. In May 2026, the programme expanded to include George.
The programme is delivered through its partnership with Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS) in Cape Town, and GO GEORGE public bus service in the George area.
Registered jobseekers receive 6 x free trips as a voucher that can be used Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm.
