Western Cape Budget 2025/26

On 27 March 2025, the Western Cape Minister of Finance, Deidré Baartman, tabled a R269.524 billion budget for the 2025 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF). The Budget will prioritise economic growth, job creation, and service delivery.
The Western Cape Government is ‘Stepping up for Growth and Jobs’.
Our vision is to help businesses grow and create jobs,and equipping you to get those jobs.
Policy Priority Spending
Over the next three years we will allocate R43.789 billion for Growth for Jobs; R3.955 billion for Safety; R194.928 billion for Educated, Healthy and Caring Society; and R23.439 billion for Innovation, Culture and Governance.
Social Sector Spending
Over the next three years, we will spend R215.712 Billion (or 80%) of the total provincial spending on Social Sector spending.
This will comprise:
- R101 Billion for Education,
- R100 billion for Health,
- R8.4 Billion for Social Protection and
- R6.4 Billion for Housing and Community amenities.
